Show 4449 Marrs- D 2469 know it was there. Q You did that throughout the entire period of your work there, did you? A No, it wasn't necessary the upper river -- we only made the one trip -- wasn't necessary to mark the channel for the return trip. Q What do you mean, you only made the one trip? A At the time we went from about Warm creek up to the party -- we took up Mr. Loper in the boat that time; we only made the one trip with him -- Mr. Trimble's party. Q You didn't do any marking on those upper stretches? A No, not on that trip. Q Between what points did you follow this practice of marking bad places? A From Lees Ferry up; we made many trips from Less Ferry as far as Warm creek, hauling up supplies, gasoline, put them along the bank so when we made our succeeding trips we wouldn't the loaded with gasoline; sometimes took four or five barrels of gasoline up as a special trip, and put it on the bank. Q That Warm creek was substantially on the Utah- Arizona line, was it? A I believe it was very close to the line. Q When you took this trip with Mr. Loper further up, you didn't mark any places on that trip, because you knew that was out of your territory, you weren't going to go up there any more? |
