A No; in all river regulations you will find the channel described as the path for the boat to travel, the channel for the boat. They don't care what happens to the rest of the river, pertaining to the boat. They always ask you in examination on steam boats to map out the channel for the boat to travel. Q Then do I understand you in the operation of this boat you didn't pick always the deepest water? A No, the water is too swift in the deep part -- in many of the deep parts; if it is not swift, there is a bar there, the water is quiet, the sand settles on it.
