Show 4370 Loper- D 2390 A Wimmer's ranch. Q Did you continues with the outfit, then, until it was unloaded? A I said terminated at Wimmer's ranch; I was wrong. All the loads on the barges was taken off; the Betsy Ann was left at Wimmer's ranch, the two barges was left there. But the Marguerite was unloaded of all her load, and the men was put on the Marguerite and went on to Greenriver. Q Did you go up with the Marguerite? A Yes sir. Q How many men were in the boat at the time you went up? A I would think there was eight or ten men on that boat. Q Just tell me about that trip from Wimmer's ranch up to Greenriver. A There was one place below the Auger we grounded, I remember; it seems to me like it took us a little while to get over the Auger. Our most serious trouble was at a gravel island just below the bridge. We all got out there and helped push up over that break where island is, where the water is so shallow. BY THE SPECIAL MASTER: Q That is right at Greenriver? A Just below Greenriver; everybody but the pilot had to get out and help push over. |
