Show 4342 Loper- D 2362 Q This is taken in 1915. Does that represent it as you saw it in 1907 and 1908 and succeeding years? A Yes sir, just exactly as it was then and is today. Of course, it is abandoned now. Trachyte comes down here to the river. Trachyte rapids are down in here ( indicating). THE SPECIAL MASTER: The court does not always look at pictures. That is why I get this in the record. BY MR. BLACKMAR: Q Then you went up to Red canyon? A Yes sir. Q What kind of place did you have up there? A Red canyon is quite a long bar; when I say bar, I mean the bottom, but the placer ground at Red canyon was on a high bar, one hundred and ninety- five feet above the river; that was the places ground. But on this low bar or bottom land was a little ranch, only about seven or eight acres, or nine acres, under cultivation, we had to raise horse feed, had a little orchard, little vineyard, chicken yard, wagon and mower, things like that. Q I call your attention to picture 200 in Exhibit 11 D, ask you if that represents the ranch you have just described? A Yes sir. Q What kind of trees are these here? A Cottonwoods; the cabin is right in cottonwoods. |
