Show OMB No. 1024-00 18. NPS Form United States Department of the Interior National Park Service National Register of Historic Places Continuation Sheet Section No. I Page ~ Utah Ore Sampling Company Mill, Murray, Salt Lake County, UT Superintendent's Residence: This building is located southeast of the mills. This one-story, cross-wing cottage clad with horizontal wood planking and a gabled roof was built in 1909 and is approximately 1,160 square feet. It has an enclosed, screened front porch on its east elevation and its out-building is a one-car, wood framed garage accessed by the driveway to the south of the house. Thaw House: Not located on the subject parcel. Located at about 5450 South 200 West, and built in 1927, it is 12,341 square feet and constructed of reinforced concrete frames with hollow tile / brick infill. It has an unusual roof shape, which is sort of an arched with semi-circular hips at each end, likely constructed of wood. It looks as though the rail car opening has been bricked in where old photographs show two large wood sliding doors, possibly where rail cars were pushed through to thaw for a period of time. There is a large, tall chimney at the southwest corner of the building and many other vent devices on the roof |
