Show Section 106 - Cultural Resource Inventory. 300 West/Cottonwood St. between 5300 South and 7200 South 13 Figure 8. 5510 South 300 West (Building #1). 5534 South 300 West This building is a period cottage built in 1908 (Figure 9). This house is not eligible for the NRHP because of some major modifications to the front facade. The original front porch has been enclosed and an additional front porch has been built to the side. The style above the front porch is a type of English tudor looking motif This house has been too changed to still be eligible for the NRHP. Vegetation in the front of the house prevents more detailed photos showing the front facade modifications. 5540 South 300 West This house (Figure 10) is similar to its neighbor next door (5534 South 300 West) in that it too has been modified. This 1910 cross wing has also enclosed the front porch, and a big picture window looking out to the street has been added. Because of this modification the house is no longer eligible for the NRHP. A large tree in the front of the house prevents better photos showing the front facade modifications. 5564 South 300 West This is a good example of a hall-parlor type house (Figure 11). Built in 1908 it still retains all of its integrity and has no significant modifications. This house is eligible for the NRHP because of its age (1908) and lack of changes. |
