Q Have you ever crossed the San Juan river below Bluff? A Yes, I went out there to the Navajo mountains, traded horses with the Indians for sheep. Q How far below Bluff is that? A Fifteen miles. Q Have you ever seen the San Juan river when it was dry? A I would call it dry; little seepage; you could cross over without wetting your feet. Q At what point? A Below Shiprock. Q And above Bluff City? A Oh, yes. Q Have you ever seen it when it was dry below Bluff City? A No, I think not. BY MR. FARNSWORTH: Q What is that? A No, I believe not. BY MR. BLACKMAR: Q Have you had occasion to observe it being dry above Bluff City on several different occasions or on just one occasion?
