Show Adams- C 429 CROSS EXAMINATION BY MR. FARNSWORTH: Q Mr. Adams, you don't know of any markets that are located on the San Juan river either above or below Bluff, do you? A No sir. MR. BLACKMAR: Any what? MR. FARNSWORTH: Markets. A Not anything to speak of. Q If you have a product that you want to ship out, you naturally send it to the nearest market, don't you? A Yes sir; well, there is some Indian trading posts down below; they get some of their supplies, such as flour, and the like of that, hay, up where we live, that is all. Q Suppose those Indian trading posts want to send out something they bought from the Indians, blankets or furs or anything else there is not any city or town or market on the San Juan to which they could send them if they wanted to, is there? A Not that I know of, unless you go way up above, up the river, way up into Colorado or New Mexico; I don't know anything about that. Q Now, with reference to the river, Mr. Adams, you testified to two occasions when you recall its being dry there at Bluff? A Yes sir. Q Counsel then asked you if you had known of any other occasion when the river was low, or in substance that, and you said you recalled once when you could see the rocks clear across it? 2386 |
