Show Jones- RG 413 A I have forded it sometimes when it came up just about to the horse's knees. Q You think at times it has been as low as that? A Yes sir. Q How high are horses' knees? A Nearly two feet? Q Nearly two feet? Q Yes sir. Q That is the lowest you ever saw it, even at the most shallow places you have forded? A No. SPECIAL MASTER: You mean in the channel? MR. FARNSWORTH: I mean in the channel. Q I mean if you went across the river at a place where it was more shallow than any other place that you know of, have you not at some place in making that crossing, for a considerable distance, been in water that was two feet or more deep? A Sometimes when it is scattered all out over there it would be very shallow in some places, and when I crossed the channel here and there it would be deeper. Q In those channels the depth, so far as you have known the San Juan water, has always been more than two feet; isn't that true? A I don't think so. Q In the channels? A I don't hardly think so. Q Would you say the minimum depth has been, according to your best judgment, when it has been most shallow, about two feet? 2379 |
