Q Were you the first settler up there at Bluff, Mr. Jones? A I was among the first, yes sir. Q When you crossed the Colorado at Lee's Ferry, if you had to cross back on the north side of the San Juan river, was there a trail there of any kind? A Yes sir, there was and old Indian trail. Q An old Indian trail which led along the north side of the San Juan river? A It was a long distance from the river. Q How far? A It would be over one hundred miles.
