Show Bowen- D 499 Q Have you ever crossed it on foot between Bluff and Mexican Hat? A Yes sir. Q Do you recall at what point? A Well, right at Mexico Hat, and right at the store. Q Right, at the store, and right at Mexican Hat? A Yes sir. Q How many times have you done that? A I don't know; I have waded it and crossed it horseback, but I don't know how any times. Q Well, is it something that you do frequently, every year? A Well, in the fall of the year and summer. Q Every year? A Every year since I have been there. Q How many people live at Mexican Hat at the present time? A Me and my wife and another family that lives about a mile and a half above us. Q Are there any other people living in that country west of Bluff and between the San Juan and the Colorado river? A Not that I know of. Q Well, if they were there you would know it, wouldn't you? A I think so. Q During the high water, -- in what months do you get high water there? A Two years ago we had the highest water the 29th of September, thirty- three feet. Q That other months do you usually get high water? A Well, in May and June, usually June, the latter part of May, and June; and then September and October, occasionally in 2465 |
