JOHN BELL was thereupon called as a witness on behalf of the United States, and being first duly sworn herein, testified as follows: DIRECT EXAMINATION BY MR. BLACKMAR: SPECIAL MASTER: Mr. Blackmar, among those exhibits introduced in Washington, were there any photographs of this region? You had five or six volumes of photographs. MR. BALCKMAR: Yes sir, we have some. SPECIAL MASTER: I think it might be helpful if we can have those here while the testimony is going on. MR. FARNSWORTH: Were there any photographs put in except those made at four corners? MR. COLLINS: Yes. SPECIAL MASTER: I was thinking there were four or five volumes of an earlier exhibit. I don't know why they contained. MR. COLLINS: They are official photographs from the Geological Survey, taken by men in topographic work, in connection with that and other. 2477 |
