Show Jones- C 383 23 and the Colorado rivers, how many times have you either crossed or seen the San Juan river? A Nearly every place you could get to the river on horseback. Q How many times would you say? A I couldn't tell you that. Q What necessitated or occasioned your visits to the river at those points? A Well, in looking after cattle, trading with the Indians, looking after cattle and horses. Q Then you did have cattle down there, did you? A Yes sir, some. Q Grazing along the lands adjacent to the San Juan river? A Yes sir. Q And grazing along lands adjacent to the Colorado river? A No sir. BY THE SPECIAL MASTER: Q How far down from Bluff did you have cattle? A About fifteen miles. Q No further than that? A Well, I haven't used it, but some of the cattle would go all over, other people's cattle; I have never rode extensively below that fifteen miles. BY MR.
