Show Raplee- D 466 A Yes. Q Did you make any in high water? A Yes; that is the time we generally made it. Q Did you make any at low water? A Yes, I made a few trips at low water, but it was too much work. Q Now, take a case when the water was high on the river, -- do you recall what months it was high? A Yes, generally high in the spring of the year, and then along about -- well, along about June we have a little flood down the river from the snows, and then from September to the last of October we have our big floods and comes from the mountains. Q Take a trip down there in June, if you made any trips in the month of June, and just tell me, please, how you went down the river, and the length of time it took, and any other thing in connection with the trip. A Generally took me about a day to go down. Q How many miles? A It is about twenty- five miles. Q Did you have any difficulty with sand bars? A Yes. Q Tell me about that? A Sand bars, you get up on a sand bar, you know, and get fast, then you would have to get out and cry it off. Q That is in the month of June you would have that? A Yes, any month, unless it is right at the very high stage of the water. BY MR. FARNSWORTH: Q Unless it was, you say? 2432 |
