The original buildings were cut Into pieces before they were moved from the site. When the camp first opened, some of the windows were not yet completed even though Japanese Americans were assigned to those barracks. Some did not have sheet rock In the interiors. None had Insulation except for the tar paper siding . The first contingent arrived from Tanforan around September 10, 1942. By September 19, Delta's temperature fell to 25 .
