Show REGULAR mums JUNE 12, 1:911:319 The regular meeting of the Boa rd of Regents was held at the University at 12:15 p. m., June 12th, 1916. During the meeting luncheon was served by the Domestic Science Department under the direction of Miss Wheele r. Present, Regents Armstrong, Bamb erger, Mattson, Kingsbury Young, Middleton, and Gemmell. In the absence of Chairman Riter, Rege nt Armstrong Was chosen to preside. Minutes Approved 1 Minutes of the previous meetings of the Board and the Executive Committee as sent to members by the Secretary were approved. "Letter to Regent Young reported that, acting under inst ructions Teaching Staff from the Board, he had sent to each member of the teac hing staff the following letter: . "June 1, 1916. '"Member of the Teaching Staff of the University of Utah. Dear Sir: Herewith find notice of your appointment to a 'position in the University of Utah. . I am directed to say to you that the petition of the Teaching Staff for an increase of salaries came before the Board of Regents for consideration, as did also your_ request that the signing of the contracts be delayed until after the income of the University for the next school year should be definitely determined, and furthermore, that the Board is unanimously in sympathy with your petition, and will be pleased to grant the same if the income of the University he found to be sufficient. In the meantime, and in order that we may be assured of your services for the coming year, we ask that you Sign and return your contract without delay. In behalf of the Board, I beg to assure you that your acceptance of the appointment will in no wise prega- dice the consideration of your petition for an increase ala 5 . 1y.
