Show weeks I make the following recommendations through Dr. Kingsbury, and ask that they receive early action so that Prof. Allen may notify the members of the Faculty as soon as possible of the terms of their employment for the next academic year. 1. That the attached salary budget be approved. All persons included in the budget were in the employ of the University last year, or have been acted upon by the.Board this spring, with the exceptions of Dr. R D. Harriman, Instructor in Harriman Ancient Languages at a salary of $1200, and Florence Ware, Ware Instructor in Art-in the Training School at a salary of $1000, who have been recommended by the departments concerned and con~ sidered by the Administrative Council. The salaries are those of last year with such increases as are provided by the present schedule or by special contracts with the University. I believe this salary budget to be well within the probable income of the University for the next school year. " Secretary. 2. That the election of a secretary of the Board of Regents be postponed until next summer or early fall, and that Prof. D. R. Allen serve as secretary until that time. 5. That the Medical School be continued, ‘ providing the cost of maintaining it in class A does not exceed the cost of maintenance for Medical School this year by more than about $2500; and that final action on the Medical school be deferred until next July when the probable income of the University will be more definitely known. Department Appropriations 4. That the prepartion of departmental budgets for supplies and equipment be deferred until July, when the University income will be more definitely known. ' Widtsoe 5. That the head professr of English be authorized to attend the summer meeting instead of the winter meeting of the National Council of Teachers of English, as a delegate from the Uni_ versity, and under the existing regulations cover- ing such matters, 6. . ' That Dr. Kingsbury have full author- ity to act during my absence in all matters pertaining to next school year.
