I also recommend that Mr. L.L.Butler, provided he can be secured, be employed for the English Department and be made an Assis- tant Professor of English at a salar3 already provided for a teacher ofl'finglish,»1250 to be paid from the General Maintenance and $250 from money obtained by extension work of the English Department, but with the definButler ite understanding that his salary shall not be increased year by year in accordance with the sliding schedule until,in the judgment of the administration,the income of the University will fully justify such an in- crease. Gentlemen: In accotdance with the wishes of Dean Bennion, I recommend that Miss Mary B. Fox be given the title of assistant professor, in order that she can have a vote in the Fox Croxall Faculty; that Miss Manon Croxall be appointed as teacher in the Department of Domestic Science at a salary of $700 for the year, Hagerman f in place of Miss Hartman, who_has resigned; ard that Miss Rita Hagerman be appointed as teacher in the scond grade at a salary of $700 per year, to fill a vacancy in that I grade.
