Show ‘ recommendation was, on motion, referred to the Finance Committee. Athletic ‘ The Committee on Student Activities, to whom the Policy question of an athletic policy had-been referred at a previous meeting, reported thru Regents Middleton and Porter as follows: '"We concur in the recommendation-of the Adminis- 'trative Council 'That it be the sense of this Committee that athletics in so far as they involve inter-collegiate contests be permanently self-supporting,‘ but say to the Athletic Council that their best judgment is to prevail in fixing the schedules,- at least to the extent that they are not to be held to the position of a guarantor." On motion, the report of the Committee was adopted. Explosion ‘ Regent Williams as Chairman of the Building Committee Insurance. recommended that $550,000 Explosion Insurance be placed on the University buildings and contents, at a cost of $1,225.00 for one year.- ‘ including the library. It was moved by Regent Young, and carried, that the Regents be represented to the State Board of Examiners as concurring with the recommendation‘ of the Building Committee, and asking for permission to create a deficit sufficient to secure this insurance. In the mean- time the watchmen are to continue until the insurance is placed, or other arrangements made. Park Dean W. H. Leary of the School of Law entered the meeting Estate at this stage, and reported that it was his opinion that the real estate remaining in the Park Estate could be transferred to the University by the Executor altho thre are some difficulties involved. He stated that a transfer at this time might raise questions as to the title when the University 6 |
