Regent Young Presented the following resolution WhiCh was read and adopted: isaxnnnasrrnor~ez 1"resident to fill Vacancies ‘WHEREAS, a number of vacancies exist in the teaching force" of the University of Utah for the year 1915-16 owing to ‘ voluntary resignations among those selected for employment;:; WHEREAS, in order to fill such vacancies adequately it is 1w perative that steps be taken at once and before qualified educators have concluded arrangements elsewhere: RESOLVED, that the President of the University, with the ‘ advice of the heads of the several appropriate committees M'-j the Board of Regents, be and he is hereby authorized and ' directed to enter into correspondence with and respecting ta qualifications of persons suggested as being_qualified to ~ fill such vacancies; and, beginning with April 15, 1915, to, enter into definite contracts for the year 1915-16 with such persons as may thus be selected subject to this Board. Use of Buildings to be the approval of , 5 Regent Rolapp presented the following resolution which was under discussion, but in view of the_fact that several 5 Tendered regents had withdrawn to attend to other necessary business; further consideration was postponed until.9:30 a. m.. Thursday, April 8, 1915. 1 RESOLUTION sagas, It having come to the knowledge of the Board of Regents that at a meeting of the Alumni of the University of Utah ., a committee was appointed to make enquiries into the cause of the agitation at the University, and inasmuch as the ' 'L Alumni is equally interested with the members of this Board" and the public in general in maintaining efficiency and 1 tranquility at the chief educational institution of this State; and believing the said committee will pursue its inquiry in that spirit and with that purpose in mind, we Jp hereby tender the Committee so appointed, or any other in a? ested citizen. the use of the University buildings and sues} other assistance as this Board or any of its committees "am be able to render it furthering the above efforts.
