Show Anderson- C 747 Q You had gone as far as you wanted to go? A Been as far as we could go. Q Because of lock of fuel? A That's one thing. Q This new boat was how much longer than the other boat? A Ten feet. Q Just the same width, was it? A Yes sir. Q Heavier than it was originally? A No sir. Q About the same weight? A Yes, if anything a little lighter -- no, a little heavier, probably; we had the boiler aboard; might have been a little heavier, not very much. We took off some of the work, besides; then engines we had, them gasoline engines we had weighed twenty- seven hundred pounds apiece, so that made over two ton; so it stood off the boiler, about; might have been a little heavier. Q What time of year was it you took this second trip? A In the fall. Q The water appeared to be about the same as it was when you made your trip in your canoe? A Just about the same; I think there was a little bit more water at that time. Q you didn't go around to see whether the conditions at the slide were such that you could get through there all right? 2715 |
