I would say it would average -- Bluff field -- probably fifty rode wide by a mile and a half long; and when we first settle in Bluff I would say it was a mile wide by two and a half miles long. Q. The difference three years ago had already gone down the river? A. Three years ago had already gone down. Q. Is there any land between that point and the mouth of the Colorado, that you know of, that is now irrigated or was irrigated three years ago when you left there? A. Not that I know anything about. Q. Or cultivated? A. No sir. Q. Was there always enough pasturage in the country west of Bluff City to carry cattle through the winter? A. That is question no one could answer; some years we had lots of cattle, lots of feed, they would go through all right; the next year maybe wouldn't have over half as many cattle, and half of them would die.
