Q Do you recall how long prior to the starting of the city of Moab that this row boat went down locate the channel? A I think the investigation was made of the Green river after we had started to build the boat in Grand Junction, after we found out we couldn't get it down the Grand river, then we put the men in a small boat at Greenriver and went down the Green river to find out what could be done there. We had already, however, got part of the boat built before we did that. BY THE SPECIAL MASTER: Q What happened to the boat after it got down to Greenriver? I mean this survey boat. A This skiff? Q Yes. A They towed it back up in the swift place, and rowed it back up to Greenriver. Q It came up the river again? A Yes sir. The river wasn't very high at the time we made the investigation. BY MR. BLACKMAR: Q Are you positive of that? Didn't they go on up the Grand to 2643 |
