Show Lumnsden- C 682 volume of water. MR. FARNSWORTH: I am asking him. THE SPECIAL MASTER: He can ask him whether that is a fact or not. BY MR. FARNSWORTH: Q You just stated, as I understood you, by way of explanation of my question concerning this very point, that you went down a certain channel all right, then when you went to go back up that same channel, you had difficulty in getting up, or couldn't get up; isn't that true? A yes. Q Was it the same channel, or the same place, both times? A Both times? I don't quite understand. Q When you came down it and went back up it, or tried to go back up it, it was the same place, was it? A It was the same channel we attempted to go back up, yes. Q The water flow was different through that place? A Yes, it had changed entirely. Q And that is what you mean when you speak of changing channels, is it? A To make it clear to you, for instance, going down we would have a channel probably fifty feet wide going down, and when we came back up, this fifty- foot channel I speak of wouldn't admit of the boat coming back up, because the sandbars and the gravel had shifted, hence we had to take the other side, where we found more water. 2650 |
