A Yes sir. Q Did you ever use a boat on the river? A No. Q Ever use a boat for crossing? A No sir. Q In your work was it necessary from time to time to cross the river? A Yes sir. Q And what mode of transportation did you use to get across the river? A We forded it horseback, or afoot, a time or two. Q At what points did you ford it? A Forded below Bluff, about the mouth of Chinle creek, and above Bluff, and down same where near Moonlight creek. Q About how many different times would you say that you had crossed that river either on foot or on horseback. A Well, for a week or ten days I crossed it every day, about the mouth of Chinle creek; go over in the morning and back again in the evening; was camped on one side and working on the other.
