Do they live east or west of a line drawn north and south through Bluff City? A The base -- the meridian line that runs through Monticello is four miles up the river from Bluff City. Q Take it on that base meridian line, is that one hundred and ten? A No, the one hundred and ten runs through Oil basin, comes in Gypsum creek; it is went of Bluff; I don't know which meridian it is; that is the only survey that was ever run through there direct. Q Take that meridian that runs through Monticello, does the population in that county live east or west of that meridian? A With the exception, I would say, that there would be about ten ranches east of Monticello, and a little settlement at Lesal, that is north of them, I don't know how many there is there, probably twelve or fifteen families, I would say there are twenty families lived east of that line, making a guess at it. Q How many families lived west of a line drawn north and south through Bluff? A That is the line we have been talking about.
