Show Anderson- D 732 when I got up to it I saw what I was up against, and I swung the bow over and butted into the rocks; it threw me out; I didn't get the swell of the water over me. That is the fact of it. BY MR. BLACKMAR: Q then you went on back down the Colorado river to the junction of the Green? A Yes. Q then did you start up the Green river? A Yes sir. Q Tell me about your trip on the Green river. A It was just practically the same as going down, fighting sand bars all the way up. only it wasn't quite as hard; when you hit a sandbar you had chance to back off. Q Do you recall that section of the river known as Stillwater canyon? A Yes. Q Did you meet any sandbars in that? A No, there was plenty water there; didn't see anything there. Q where was it you got these sandbars, what stretch of the river? A All around. Q Before you got into Stillwater? A Yes, between the mouth of the canyon and Stillwater, going around that bend, and around in there. Q And up through Labyrinth canyon? 2700 |
