He was baptized Sept. 13, 1900, ordained a High Priest June 15, 1924; by Geo. F. Richards, and was chosen as president of the Zion Park Stake Dec. 8, 1929. Nov. 15,1884, in St. George, Utah, a son of Thomas Judd and Mary Jane Ashworth. He was baptized Nov. 15, 1892, ordained an Elder June 24, 1906, by Edward H. Snow, filled a mission to Great Britain in 1914-1916, was ordained a High Priest and was .set apart as first counselor in the Stake presidency Dec. 8, 1929; by David O. McKay. ISOM, Samuel, Bishop of the Hurricane Ward, Zion Park Stake, Utah, from 1907 to 1923, was born April 27, 1869, in Mountain Dell, Utah, a son of William Isom and Kat her i n e Woolfe. He was baptized when eight years old, ordained a Seventy in November, 1895, by Abraham H. Cannon, filled a mission to the Southern States in 1895-1898, was ordained a High Priest by John R. Murdock at Beaver, Utah, and acted as Bishop of the Virgin City Ward from 1905-1907, and was set apart as Bishop of the Hurricane Ward by Francis M. Lyman Sept. 5, 1907. He died Feb. 2, 1923. He was baptized about 1884 and ordained a High Priest and Bishop Dec. 17, 1921, by Hyrum G. Smith. He came to Utah in 1854, was baptized when eight years old, and was ordained a High Priest and Bishop Feb. 25, 1900, by Daniel D. McArthur. MANNING, William Hart, Bishop of the Toquerville Ward, Zion Park Stake, Utah, from 1929 to 1930+, was born Nov. 19, 1886, in Hooper, Utah, the son of John H. and Elizabeth Hart. He was baptized July 5, 1904, and ordained a High Priest and Bishop Sept. 23, 1928, by David O. McKay. RUSSELL, Alonzo Haventon, presiding Elder of the Grafton Branch, Zion Park Stake, Utah, from 1868 to 1887, was born July 3·1,1821, in Royalton, Vermont, the son of Thomas B. Russell and Esther Lyman. He was baptized in 1841, came to the Valley 'n 1852; and was sustained as Bishop f the Grafton Branch when it bearne a ward in 1877 . |
