Salt Lake City welcomes comments on the issues identified and addrensed here as well as issues that may not be adequately explored. General A: Continue With Existing Watershed Managemen t Policies As described in Chapter 2, Salt Lake City watershed management is directed by State legislatio n and City ordinances and policies. Coupled with extensive water rights and landholdin gs, Salt Lake City has considerab le influence in Canyons managemen t. Salt Lake City could continue with this existing set of policies. Presently Salt Lake City relies heavily on City-Coun ty Board of Heal th, County Planning, County Developme nt Services, and the U.S. Forest Service for watershed protection . General B: Diminished Citv Manaoemen t and Enforceme nt Salt Lake City could assume a smaller role in watershed related policymak ing and decisionm aking by reducing watershed managemen t activities , relying more heavily on the County, Board of Heal th, Forest Service and other governmen tal entities to adopt and / enforce standards for watershed protection .
