Show PROGRAM MAKING GENERAL MEETING FEBRUARY 5, 1986 7:30 P.M. ZION LUTHERAN CHURCH This year we are planning for the LWVSL program for 1986-87 and the national program for 1986-88~ Please plan to attend this important meeting and enjoy an evening with other League members . If you•re new to the League, don't be bashful! Come, get acquainted, and see the League's .,grass rootsu in action. On the local level~ we will review/revise our current program (see'· below) and suggest topics for next year~ This 1~ your chance to suggest topics you feel are important for League study or to hear and discuss what others suqaest~ The Salt Lake Board will consider the suggestions from this meeting and formulate a recommended program to be voted on at the annual meeting in Apri1. , When thinking about items for program keep these questions in mind: Does the proposed item fit League _principles? Is the issue one on which governmental action is needed? Do po1itica1 realities permit effective action? Does the issue involve a current need or one on which c·ommunity interest cou1 d be deveJ oped? Is ther.e enough member interest and commitment within the League? Do we have or can we get the funds we need? Does the issue fit as part of a total workable program? The National Board's suggested program will be published in the winter 1986 issue of National Voter whith you will be receiving soon~ Please review the. suggested program since we will be discussing it at the meeting. If you can't attend, you can still participate in choosing reviewing our local program and statements of position and ir,formation in the National Voter.
