Time to think about warm weather, gardens, outdoor activitfes, and !\nf!_ual Meeting) I do want to urge all of you to attend . Last year at this time I wrote about all the reasons you would benefit from attending this meeting: the enjoyable company, stimulating discussions, and great food* These reasons still exist, but this year I would like to mention the reasons the ~eague will benefit form your attendance . The League of Women Voters is a .grassroots organization . Our strength and our credibility depend upon member involvement. Study topics are chosen by members and posit ions are taken through a process of d·i scuss ion and member consensus.. In addition, mf?mbers vmrk on studies, undertake voter service activities and help with necessary fundraisers~ Coordinating and organizing all of these League activities is the briarde Each year these twenty or so League members dedicate countless hours and energy to developing and carrying out League pro9ram. Annual Meeting is one time of year when we take stoc~ of the past year and plan for the coming year. The outgoing board needs to know how you feel about their past efforts and the incoming board is anxious for your advic~ and direction for the year to come¥ Please glance over the Annual Meeting Handbook (you can:t miss it -- its lavender!) Noticr~ especially the suggested program ideas for next year. In addition to the 0 actionn items which result from p;1st studies tnd consensus$ there are several study ide~s. It is unlikely that more than one or two of these studies wi11 be adopted .. Chose the one you prefer then come to Annual Meeting and vote for the study of your choice!
