Show - - -- - SALT LAKE COUNTY AGING, SHAUNA O'NEIL, DIRECTOR A NATIONAL DISCOUNT PROGRAM FOR SENIOR CITIZENS The Salt Lake County Agency on Aging, in cooperation with the publisher, Southwestern Bell Media, are sponsoring a free senior citizen discount directory called "Silver Pages." Silver Pages, like the Yellow Pages telephone directory, includes hundreds of business listings and individual business advertisements; however, Silver Pages lists only those local, regional and national participating businesses that offer discounts or other special advantages to holders of a card called the "Silver Savers' Passport." The "Passport" and the Silver Pages directory are free to all residents of the United States who are 60 years of age or older. A Silver Savers' Passport entitles the holder to discounts at participating stores, theatres, restaurants, travel agencies, etc. in the metropolitan area; the holder can also get discounts at participating businesses in over 100 cities across the country. For easy identification, the companies in the program display Silver Pages emblems on their doors and windows. In a special section prepared by the local Agency on Aging, the directory lists the names, addresses and telephone numbers of agencies and organizations that provide services and benefits to senior citizens on the Wasatch Front. Local enrollment sites include senior centers .. First Security Banks.,. American Savings .. United Savings ond county libraries.
