Spring! Time to think about warm weather, gardens, outdoor activities, and Annual Meetin1! I do want to urge all of you to attendw Last year at this time I wrote about all the reasons you would benefit from attending this meeting: and great food$ the enjoyable COf1lpany, stimu1at·fng discussions, These reasons still exist, but this year I would like to mention the reasons the League wn l benefit form your attendance~ The league of Women Voters is a .gra.ssroots organiza.tion.. Our strength and our cred·ibi 1 ity depend upon member involvement., Study topics are chosen by a process of discussion and member members and posit ions are taken consensus. In addition 1 members work on studies, undertake voter service activities and help with necessary f undraisers. Coordinating and organizing all of these League activities is the board. Each year these twenty or so League members dedicate countless hours and energy to developing and carrying out League program .. . Annual Meeting is one time of year when we take stock of the past year and plan for the coming year~ The outgoing board needs to know how you feel about their past efforts and the incoming board is anxious fJr your advic~ and direction for the year to come. Please glance over the Annual Meeting Handbook (you can't miss it -- its lavender!) Notice e.specia11y the sug9ested program "ideas for next year., In addition to the uactiont1 items which result from past studies and consensus,, there are several study ideas. It is unlikely that more than one or two of these studies will be adopted. Chose the ones you prefer then come to Annual Your opinion is needed!
