You've undoubtedly seen them, they circle and circle and then the circle opens up and the lead boat goes for shore and here are these ants, you know, headed for the shore. So, y ou climbed down the nets into the boat and then the boat circled the shin. No, not circled the ship, the~ just ran circles off the ship. had to get far enough away because the next bunch of LCVP's •. Were lining up. Sure, they had to get clear of them so they could get along the ship so the guys could come down the nets into them. And you migh end up with .. I can't remember the terrninology •• these different circles. God knows how many of these units you'd have out there on the ocean, and when they'd get them all dff that were going to shore, at least for the first wave, and the first wave is just a whole damn bunch of these lines. Each one going in is a wave, yo see, and they'd hit the shore,and you'd run off and you'd hit the ground,and then the whistle blows and you get back in the LCVP, and it takes you back to the mother ship,and then you climb the nets again, then you eat •.• oh, gees, boy, did I get my belly full of that. Then the payoff on the deal is that the .•• I was with the 27th division, and damn if they didn't go into combat before I d id. Th os e g uys t hat you were training?
