Oh, I guess about a year. Not too long then. No, not too long. What kind of kid were you growing up? I was always in trouble. What kind of trouble? Well, never with the law, but mostly school. I didn't care much go to school because ••. well, I can't say they couldn't keep me occupied or keep me interested, that wouldn't be fair to say, either ••• ! didn't like the confinement of school. I used to sit around most of the time and do nothing while the other kids were doing lessons or taking tests. I could do whatever they were doing, I had no problems with it. The teachers were busy with other kids and I was being ignored. My lessons were always up, I was always a grade or two ahead of where I had to be, you know, aids, but •• ! don't know •• I wasn't in it. Then I had another capacity that I used to call bad luck. For exa~ple. to give you an idea of how I used to get in trouble, I'll never forget this •• I got to school late and I ~s trying to beat the bell, the late bell, and I was right at the front entrance of the school that wa forbidden to students .. and I'~ trying to reconstruct a visual memory here, and I'd say the beginning of the steps was maybe 15 feet from the sidewalk, and then you had to go up a flight of sta that was maybe 15-20 steps, you know, with a little platform tnbetween •• maybe 8 ste ps and then a little platform and then maybe |
