Show Rose {1 / 17/83) nage 11 Mr. K this test because I had written cesura with a small C and not a capital. This is the kind of t hing that I got gigged from her all the way t hrough, and the only thing I could get out of her grade after grade after grade was an F+. Now, an F is not what an F eans now. The way we were graded then was an E for excellent, G for go~, and F for fair, and P for poor. So, you could get an F+, you could get a~+. I wor~ed - for her ••• I worked for her. I re~ e ber I wrote a theme, we had to turn in •• ! don't remember how any words a month we had to turn in in themes •• and we had to write a descriptive theme ••• ! don't know how this one happened, but I could see ~e,just as sure as God made little green apples, sitting on a hill and looking down over this area, and I want to tell you something - I wrote a theme! I rewrote that miserable theme 50 times, and when I turned it in I knew it was good, nobody had to tell ~e it was good. And I get to school one day and she reads thaT theme, I'm sitting there beaming to think that she had given me th~ accolade ~ that she was going to read my theme. When she finished she said "now, I know this is plagiarized, but I don't know from what. And when I do, then there will be an accounting". I went up to that teacher with my notebook, because I had the notebook where I had done the first draft and had scratched words out and replaced it with other words, and then rewrote 1t, and had the same thing happen. She wouldn't even look at it ••• she wouldn't even look at it. Now, these are the kinds of things •• when I say what kind of a kid I was •• ! was always in some kind of trouble. Now, where do we go? That's not all your fault, you know, these things you've described. |
