R t here were two kids that we r e pul l ed out of the i r chur ch and converted to Mormons in high school wit hout t he pare nts even knowing what was going on. The parents didn't know? No, they didn't, and boy, were they outra ged. And not only t hat, the faculties were permitting these ~ids to leave school, or at least the social worker, I can't blame it on the principal, I can't prove that he was aware of this, but the social wor ker, and we name J him, we got his name, we got his name and we got the kids that •. the two d 1fferent kids that were influenc~: at the conversion ••• They sound like two missionaries. Yes ••.. to let that kid out of school so that she could get her baptism on school time. That was a horrible thing in Davis County. Another situation was the handing out of bibles in the schools by the Gideon Society and some of the other societies, and that was here in Salt Lake City. We stopped that, and we stopped it in Weber County, and that's a beautiful little story. I got called from Ogden to find out whether I would handle something up there by the Jewish community. This kid came home with the King James version of the bible, and the kid said she got it in school. Her parents were outraged. Again one of these new couples brought in by •• brought in from the east by the companies tthat they come in wi t l· I checked that thing out, and believe it or not, I found that there were two kids in that class to whom the King James version was not p-:;~l o-o.c. · ~ or should not have b~cn ) ; one was a little Catholic kid and the other was this Jewish kid. Do you know, that Catholic kid stood up, a little girl, and she had that much moral courage that she |
