Show Rose (1/2Q/83) ~ ,, . o"i ~r. R ?Ar. K Mr. R Mr. K Mr. R I would say I was involved for 3 to 5 years prior to 5 years ago. So, about 10 years ago then? Right, about 10 years ago. What kinds of stuff were the kids bringing home, do you know? Well, in some cases there were even as much as prayer in the class-room. In many cases there were Christmas programs that were over-loaded with, well, religious Christmas songs like 'Hark, the Angels Sing', 'Silent Night,Holy Night', you know, this kind of thing. There were plays in the school, I recall one was 'Blue Angel', and the •Blue Angel' play is a little kid dreams and in the dreams a vision ap~ears and says _ "on Christmas day you will given the greatest gift of all", and the kid,in his mind, specu-lates what would be the greatest gift of all. In the awakening of the dream is the gift of salvation by Jesus, if you accept Jesus. Now, that came to me not because of the play, but in order to get into the play you had to go through a sort of elimination contest, you know, for talent and you needed a good singing voice. A littl Jewish girl won first place, so she gets the lead role in 'Blue Angel', and she's the one that's going to have the visions and she's going to get the dream and she's going to get the greatest gift, and she comes home with the script and the mother is out-raged. So, the mother doesn't come and look for help at the very, very beginning, the mother goes to school and she raises her own uproar and she's not about to have her child play that role in that play, but she is insistant that her child get to sing a lead singing role because she won the contest, and the mother insisted |
