Show Rose (1/20/83) page 16 Mr. K Mr. R Mr. K Mr. ~ involve myself in R to 10 hours preparation so I could go before a class and speak on it. I wouldn't go back to the law school; out of a 40 minute class, by the time they got rid of all the stuff they had to get out of the way, they gave me 20 minutes on the subject of constitutional law, that is,on the first a~end~ent. Whereas, the other ~woman gave ~e 2 hours, and hell, I was scream-in'; I had an 8 hour course, and I couldn't handle it in 2 hours. Do you feel, looking back, that you made a difference? Do you think you made a dent? I believe I made a dent, and I believe to a very minor degree, it was a permanent dent. I think the dent we made was like hitting a Pillow, you see, and we made a very, very big dent for;a period of 2 years. You know how the pillow restores its surface? I think that's about where we are now, and if that pillow 1s not kept hit, it ~ay be that the effect will disappear and it may be that it never will. Certainly, I think ~ people are becoming ~ore~nd more inlightened to the problem. I think we have more and more people complaining. Did you try to solicite help from other religious groups? Oh, yes, yes. The Presbyterians were very strong in Bountiful. were up there. We appeared before the school board in Davis Count ~ I ' as a matter of fact, in protest of a practice that was goingjup there. I forgot what it wes that took me up there, but I protested on that. I believe that it was the Presbyterian church •• , I we up there and spent a whole damn evening with them educating them what their rights were, and they were up in arms because there wa actually proselytizing going on right in the high schools • I |
