Show Rose (1/25/83) page 12 ~r. K Mr. R Mr. K Mr. R Mr. K Mr. R Mr. K Mr. R Mr. K Mr. R Mr . K the man I was with would come back with other letters and that we wanted him to keep doing this. He did. I understand he trans-l ated long after I was gone, because I never saw Gene Hertz again until after the war was over, because it was right after that that I went in. Gene mentioned that you mentioned some connection with the FBI. Was that true? --,. ., \ , , . , ~ You can be sure of one thing that is that you will get a denial from this guy that he knows me or ever knew me or that he ever ••• Who's this? That's Jay Newman, he was head of the FBI branch here in Salt Lake City. Their offices were in the Continental Bank building. You think he'll deny it? Well, he has previously. Is he still around? God, I don't know, you'll have to ask the FBI. He certainly retired. I think we went through this once before. Did ! give you the name of a book or something like that 'Out of the Night', and I gave you the name of the author at some time that was sued here by some local characters? Well, he went to the FBI. He was being sued by one fellow by the name of Stokes and I think he was being sued by 4 guys. I don't remember what the names of the othe guys were. Anyway, he was sued for libel; he'd written them up in a book. So, I sent him to Newman for information. For collaboration? No, not for collaboration. I don't know about collaboration. You sent h1m to Newman ••• |
