Show 721 second Ave Salt ^ake wity Utah 84103 5 December 1978 Dear DorotJ^, Enclosed is a tape of the meeting. Most of the meeting was to respond to your suggestions and actions of the last several months. Beth, Fred, Barbara, Joelle, and I was present. Before the tape went on, Fred took some time to pass out handouts- Brycn Beards communications from the Reclamation, etc. Barbara would like to write or get srittfen an article for the Cup In Audubon. Then the meeting went on. There seems to be some lack of direction and activism. However we will continue along. Tonight Fred allowed me to take some activism steps- if need be set up a public meeting ( and during the legislative seesicn) . Perhaps the coalition will get off the ground again. The next meeting will be on 14 December- to try to get together information for the budding authors: Audubon, Freds friend, and Holiday magazine-Utah. Perhaps futile but I will keep a low profile. Then there will be a 4 January meeting. Hopefully we will be off the author-assistsat role. There is always the cuestion of -where to go next. Membership drive, newsletters, and a simple brochuae keep occuring In our minas. We do need to broaden our views. It is my view that a simple brochure should be the first step- with a membership application included. We have funds for this. This is how Escalante wilderness, Long Peak Wilderness, and other activist group have started. However noons here can put together a brochure. However, if I received the information^ and after many evenings with ^lexis Kelner, we could turn out a good brochure. Alexis has a good taste. Alexis went tc a party last Saturday. There were several people from the Bureau of Reclamation there. They told Alexis that this D. H. has a full staff at the Buceau occupied at answering her ruestions. This of course Is third nadd information. Keep up the good work Dorothy. Perhaps the new year we will get off the ground again. //(t^O cf/IA^ 4 AJ |
