Show w Brent, I'm thinking things: 1. If I can get- some funds from writing a newspaper column I have in mind, and have had for several years, I can get back and forth between here and Utah with some frequency. My husband suggests this. 2. I had hoped that Trout Unlimited would get in gear and more actively fund my efforts - but, unhappily, the leaderhsip of this Group is naive and fishing oriented. They did raise some funds I used this past summer for xeroxing and mailing purposes, but they don't see an importance in helping support my being in Utah*' So, I just have to push on my own way. f^ -4-^Mtt^yx, CUr 3. I've even considered trying to start publishing a Utah F-(?FP Magazine - dealing with environmental issues, primarily, --.-- like the Idaho Citizen and I have one or two interested folk - but I really need to be living there to undertake this. Maybe I can work into this. 4. I drew up a grant proposal with and for the Wilderness Society fund raiser in Denver, last Christmas, to fund a project to publicize wildlife resources in northeast Utah and prepare resource data on it. The Fund Raiser was going to work through my wealthy brother in California, ^JjU^\ for one thing, but also appeal to developers who can use baseline information for development purposes. However, iy^ft^ for some reason, unknown to me, I discovered that Dick Jf Carter put the kibosh on this funding effort. He may have ^°^ -&J- h a d legitimate reasons, and maybe didn't. He felt strongly sJHys**^^ that since the Wilderness Society didn't have the money | to support full time Representatives in Idaho, Nevada and Y \ . ln Arizona, that they shouldn't be raising money for \P**~~ ' wildlife issues.^ U*+*A' cast-off new Group, the American Wilderness Alliance, did provide me a small sum for working in Utah, but I couldn't develop any strength there as a companion wilderness worker - since Dick really has C/vJfc^X f the State leadership in the wilderness effort - and it is d good,t -^j-j^cilv^ J-I^JJ^UJSU. I even approached the Wildlife Management Institute for a grant but they were not interested. They have professionals in regions and I guess didn't see any need for me even though I keep providing them all kinds of data - at my own expense! Any different ideas??????????????????
