A No. Q What difference do you observe between the skeletons of the Cliff Dwellers and those of Indians? A The skull of a Cliff Dwellers was rounder; we would call it better balanced; they had thirty- two teeth, the Indians twenty- eight; their hands were broader and heavier than the Indians'. That, I believe, is about the only physical difference I call to mind right now. Q Have you made observations along the river which throw say light upon the question of the occupation of the Cliff Dwellers as to whether or not they were an agricultural people? A The Cliff Dwellers, as far as we are able to determine, were strictly agricultural people. Q What leads you to that conclusion? A On account of the implements they left in their store rooms and the farms. Q Have you each their far implements in their ruins? A Oh, yes; frequently found their farming implements. Q Have you in these sections of the Colorado and Green covered by these pictures and with which you are familiar observed any ruins of ancient dams or anything indicating that |
