Show 7373 Wolverton- D 5353 way by the Wimmer ranch, but a very poor road. BY MR. FARNSWORTH: Q You say most of your supplies you got from Greenriver by boat? A Yes sir. Q Did you during those years make few or many trips a year up to Greenriver and back with your boats? A Many trips. Q Now, calling your attention to the Wilmont, after you disposed of that four- horsepower engine, -- the troubles of which you have explained here, -- did you have any trouble in negotiating any portion of those rivers that you traversed in so far as swift water is concerned? A No. Q Or riffles or rapid water? A No sir. Q I wish you would state what difficulties of any character you had in navigating those rivers with that boat with respect to sandbars or an other obstacle or obstruction to navigation. A We had no difficulties, that is, serious difficulties; at times during the first few years we touched sandbars, but we was off and on again. Q How long were you ever on a sandbar with the Wilmont? A Oh, I think three minutes would cover it. |
