Show 7290 Johnson- D 5270 period at any point? A Well, I wouldn't say positive on that, but I don't think it was over two or three hours at any one place. Q And I suppose the periods of time would vary? A Oh, yes. Q Did you during that time, during all the period of your employment there, ever leave Moab for a point down stream that you did not reach that day? A Not to my recollection, we did not. Q How may times, if any, have you failed to reach Moab when you left a point down the river with the intention of going clear through to Moab? THE SPECIAL MASTER: Read that question, Mr. Garnett. ( Question read.) A I think about twice, if I remember right. BY MR. FARNSWORTH: Q And on those two occasions when you had intended to go through but did not, what condition did you find the next morning at the point where you tied up? A Why, we generally just look around a little bit and go right on through, either by floating, or else we could find the channel; probably always after dark when we would tie up under those conditions, you know; we would find our channel the next morning and go right on. Q During that period did you do any transporting of horses on the boat? |
