A Well, if you are dragging your scow, towing it , and you have to make a short turn in the river, there are some short turns, your scow is likely to drag you off your course; but if you push it, you can get behind it and keep it in the channel. Q What finally became of the hull of the Wilmont, if you know? A It got caught in the ice in the middle of the winter, I think it was 1908 -- 1907- 1908 and 1908- 1909, when the ice run out in the spring it got caught and damaged, and the hull became leaky. We took the machinery out. Q You think that was somewhere around 1909, you say? A 1908 or 1909, as near as I remember it. Q Did you build any there boat then? A Yes, we built the Navajo.
