Show 7382 Wolverton- D 5362 questions or counsel's questions. BY MR. FARNSWORTH: Q Mr. Wolverton, when you have the high spring water so that the water is high in the river and comes up the slopes more, does it not happen that at certain points there may be a ledge of rock, for instance, that in low water the river, or at least in a swift part of the river, does not touch, but at high water it might go against such a projection, and during that temporary period of high water only cause the current to apparently cross the stream? A Yes. Q Now, if that condition, if that high water condition is only temporary, it might not during that period cause the old channel, the deep part of the river to cease to the deep part or the river, isn't that true? A That is true. THE SPECIAL MASTER: Put the further question, if that continued, then the channel would shift? BY MR. FARNSWORTH: Q If that would continue as a permanent proposition, the swift water would dig the deepest part where it was running, wouldn't it? A My observation has been that the channel of the river is well- defined within certain limits; it can not get very far one way or the other. |
