BY THE SPECIAL MASTER: Q You were working for yourself, or were you employed by somebody? A Part of the time I was working for myself, and part of the time employed. Q Who employed you? A Who employed me? Q Yes. A While at the Stanton dredge I worked for Stanton, for the Haskinnini Mining Company. While at Olympia bar I worked for the Moquie Mining Company. While at the Moquie bar I worked for L. M. Chaffin and some of his associates. I think 1899, 1900, I was a partner with L. M. Chaffin at the Moquie bar, and the Chaffin estate. BY MR. FARNSWORTH: Q What is the lowest point on the river that you have traveled to below Dandy crossing, how far down the river below that have you been on any of your expeditions? A About four or five miles below the San Rafael reef, across the Colorado river. Q You mean the San Rafael reef? A The reef that makes a circle, starts in up towards |
