Q Some witnesses here have made a distinction between current and channel. Do you make any distinction between current and channel? A I do where the river is wide; very frequently there is a lighter current, that is, slower current, outside of the main channel; they will form on one side of the river or the other, or perhaps in the middle, and sometimes they even close at the lower end.
