Q Did you ever find any place in the river, my section of either the Green or the old Grand river you have trapped in, anywhere between Moab and the head of the cataracts and up as far as you have been up the Green, where you encountered any difficulty in taking your boat loaded as it was? A I'll tell you, we figure on, poling a boat,-- the Indian says one side of the river runs up and the other down, in which there is eddies we follow; of course, we might get up a little too far to get out, and strike a sandbar, but when we follow the main channel there was no trouble. Q Did you ever strike any sandbar or get caught on any sandbars with your boat when you were in the channel of the river? A Nothing to bother; might strike and swing right off and go on.
